In the Valdevaqueros cove there is a beach with the same name, which is famous in the world for its unbeatable conditions for kitesurfing. The easterly wind, the tranquillity of the cove and its orientation make the beach one of the meccas of this sport.

A dune that is tens of metres high, which is currently growing, the coastal mountain range behind it, and river valleys with streams that flow into the beach itself make this place a wonderful landscape. It can be accessed from the N-340 road, through the different lanes that start for the coast.

The Valdevaqueros dune was formed, in part, due to the military actions carried out in the 40s, to condition the land that gave access to the military stations in the area. The construction of an elongated sand trench parallel to the coast between the dune zone and the seashore, together with the strong east winds that moved the sand, led to an increase in the height of the dune. Currently, on days of strong easterly wind, it invades the road.
