The province of Cadiz is one of the most important centres of birdlife in the world in terms of numbers of birds and varieties of species. Throughout the year Cadiz is home to around 400 different species of birds. It is also the province in Andalusia with the largest number of Protected Natural Spaces and has the most habitats in Europe, most of which have been declared SPAs (Special Protection Areas for Birds).
